Why is Fife in Scotland also known as "The Kingdom of Fife"? - scotland tourist board
I have to drive cars on holiday in Scotland and one of the rounds went to Dundee and the "Kingdom of Fife." I asked many people (Scotland) and also in the offices of the Scottish Tourist Board, but no one seems to know the answer. Can anyone out there please help?

It goes back to the time when it was the Picts Picts (New Caledonia) into several kingdoms to the north of Forrth / Clyde line. Fife was one of those empires. The name has stuck since.
